Charlie Thackston

Charlie Thackston launched Performance Methods Sales Management and Sales Channels practices after a successful 17-year career in sales, marketing and business development within the technology industry. The Sales Management Practice targets field operations “coaching best practices” and the supporting disciplines. The Sales Channel practice provides a collaborative process for building and sustaining results oriented alliances to support a multi-channel go to market strategy.

Since joining PMI in 2000, Charlie has leveraged his leadership experience in sales, marketing, channels development, new product launches and international business development within the software industry to support PMI clients in sales effectiveness, sales productivity and sales process improvements. These projects have included global account management processes and skills, consultative selling skills, margin acceleration strategies, sales funnel and forecast management, sales execution “best practices”, new vertical market sales ramp-up, executive engagement skills, executive leadership programs for country managers and executive coaching.

Prior to PMI, Charlie served as Sr. Vice President of Sales & Marketing at T/R Systems (acquired by EFI), a leading global provider of software and hardware solutions for document workflow. In this capacity, he developed and executed the marketing, sales and channels strategies to support an 80% compounded revenue growth rate resulting in a successful initial public offering in January of 2000. He also held executive positions in sales, marketing and business development with Firstwave (formerly Brock International), an early leader in the customer relationship management (CRM) software market, and Datalogix International (acquired by Oracle), a leader in the process manufacturing software market. Charlie began his career in the software industry as a logistics and materials management sales consultant with Management Science America. In this role he received consistent recognition as a “Tigers Club” top performer for all eligible years. His additional business experiences include international operations audit and finance with Monsanto and General Electric.

He holds BBA and MBA degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Georgia, and resides in Atlanta, GA with his wife and children.
